I have been saving baby clothes from both of my kids since they were born. I always knew I wanted to make something with them, but wasn’t sure what. A shadow box? A blanket? When I came across a beautiful kids quilt on Etsy, I knew I wanted to make one so that my kids could treasure them forever!
My dear friend Kim taught herself how to quilt last year, so she was sweet enough to make this beautiful kids quilt for my daughter! I had been saving bibs, onesies, pajamas, etc. to have one made, so I was very excited that was able to do it for me. Makes it even more special to us! Kim does not have an online shop, but I found Necessary Cuteness Shop on Etsy, if you want to look into ordering one for yourself.
Kids Quilt Keepsake
Here is a close-up of a section with a bib! I wanted to show that you really can make these with anything. My daughter lived in a bib her first year (she has severe acid reflux) and this “cutie” bib was one of my favorites of hers, so I wanted to include it in the blanket. It’s fun to add pieces with texture. Here is a close-up of one of her shirts with flowers on it with tulle rosettes. I used several like this to give the piece a 3-D look and it’s fun for the kids to touch. Makes it really pretty too. 🙂 Such a fun way to preserve your child’s baby clothes from their first year. This kids quilt keepsake will be treasured by you and your child for years! My daughter absolutely loves hers. Thanks again, Kim! xoxo
