Ok, truth be told, my kids tend to watch a good amount of TV, due in part to me being a work from home mom. I am always looking for more educational television shows for them to watch, so at least they are learning something useful. Rachel & The TreeSchoolers is a new educational television show that teaches kids through signing and singing and dancing! It’s interactive, which makes learning fun.
Rachel Coleman created the Emmy-nominated show Signing Time with her sister Emilie, which airs on Nick Jr. and Netflix. Her new show, Rachel & The TreeSchoolers, is based on a complete preschool curriculum to help prepare kids for kindergarten. It’s structured around layered learning and engaging kids in signs, games, and singing.

Episode 1 (video below) shows “A Rainy Day”. In the beginning of the video, Rachel explains a little about the series, how it was deemed “too educational for TV”, and how it was turned down by multiple television execs. Really? I don’t know about you, but I’d like to see more educational television for my 5 and 2 year old, especially shows that are fun and engaging!

I don’t like the thought that studios are the ones solely making the decisions of what my children will watch. Ultimately, it’s my decision – yes – but I’d love for their to be more “healthy options!” Don’t you?
We are so close to making this happen. Please pledge to Rachel & The TreeSchoolers, then take a moment to share this page via social media (links at bottom of post) with your friends. Every small bit helps – even $1.00.
I’m so glad they my daughter loves to learn, and I will continue to foster that desire and support good programs because “Education is the key to success!”
