In Sunny’s words…
“Spring is one of my favorite times of the year to have a baby shower. Flowers in bloom and the sweet smell of the rain in the spring makes me think of new beginnings and a fresh start. This shower took place in a ballet studio. Such an open elegant place filled with light and lots of mirrors. Even though it was for a baby boy I wanted it to feel delicate and bright to go along with the lovely space we were in.
We incorporated many kinds of flowers throughout, with tissue paper, cardstock, fabric and some fresh floral arrangements. Daisies potted in small watering cans doubled as drink table décor and prizes for the guests.
The Dessert table was scattered with flowers, paper pinwheels and delicate summery desserts such as mini Lemon Lush Parfaits, Lemon Crème Sandwich cookies, Oreo truffle pops, and flowery cupcakes wrapped in light blue and yellow gingham. To add a bit of whimsy we scattered paper butterflies over the table. The entire studio was lined with fabric bunting and accented with giant tissue paper flowers, which you could see in the reflection of every mirror.
For games we had a well wishes tree, were the guests could hang a sweet note to the mother and baby. There was also a fill in the blank nursery rhythm game and a guess how many safety pins are in the jar game. We also sent the mother to be home with the main floral centerpiece of Gerber Daisies in a large metal watering can. Over all the shower was a sweet success.”
